EN 1176 and EN 1177: the European standards for fixed play equipment and surfacing
EN 1176 is the European standard for permanently installed playground equipment and its surfacing; EN 1177 is the test method that gives a surface its critical fall height. Both are written by CEN/TC 136 and adopted by every national standards body under its own prefix, so NEN-EN 1176, PN-EN 1176 and UNE-EN 1176 are one document. What makes any of it binding is national law, and that differs between the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Ireland and Poland.
